Cunard feels like another world, yet also as welcoming as home. It’s a combination of courtesy and confidence that shows you’re in the hands of the most professional crew. Individuals who take great pride in making your stay on board effortless and unforgettable.
You can hear it in the way your stateroom steward greets you by name and remembers details about your trip. You can see it in your waiter’s impeccable attention to detail. You can feel it in the way you relax the moment you step on board.
We believe great service is warm and sincere, not stuffy or hurried. It’s always friendly, yet never over-familiar. Great service revolves around you.
At Cunard, we call it White Star Service because it’s a shining example of how best to treat every guest.
If anything sums up the freedom of your voyage it’s the array of places to eat, from healthy to hearty, from light bites to haute cuisine. Your only challenge is deciding what to order, when so much catches the eye. You’ll find classics like tender lobster or melt-in-the-mouth chateaubriand. Often what’s on offer reflects where you are in the world, as our chefs make use of fresh local ingredients.
Whether you’re dining in the Britannia Restaurant, the Princess Grill or Queens Grill, everything is beautifully presented and offered with a discerning selection of wines that complement your choice perfectly. You’ll also find many delicious vegetarian dishes and that we’ll happily cater for most special dietary requirements. On board all three ships, buffet-style dining is available throughout the day and until late evening. For those more informal lunches, the ever-popular Golden Lion Pub welcomes you with traditional gastro-pub fare.
‘Dining out’ is always an option.
For a modest supplement, you can enjoy a change of culinary scenery anytime from your main restaurant, and ‘dine out’.
By evening, all ships offer alternative dining options. These include Italian, Indian, Pan Asian, Mexican, and American Smokehouse menus, served in the Kings Court or Lido restaurants.
The Verandah restaurant serves French specialities during the day and evening. At dinner, it also offers an acclaimed multiple-course tasting menu – an unforgettable culinary experience for which it’s truly worth skipping lunch.
You could try something new with Cunard every day and never experience it all.
Escape into a world of possibilities with as much or as little to do as you please. Feel everyday concerns slip away as you ease into a day of blissful relaxation, or begin to explore the many experiences that await you.
Guests often remark on there being so many choices with Cunard, they rarely have time to appreciate the peaceful refinement of their stateroom.
You may care to begin with a stroll or jog around the promenade deck; three laps of Queen Mary 2 are already one mile. You may wish to lose yourself in the largest libraries at sea, discover the only floating planetarium, or join our Sommeliers for a wine-tasting from our vast cellar.
Perhaps the time has come to start that novel; our classes can guide you. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn the tango, try fencing, see how to take professional photos, or possibly meet an astronaut at one of many Insight lectures.
Whatever inspires you, it is Cunard’s delight to provide it
Thermal suites for lounging, frothy spa pools for luxuriating, and vast ocean views in which to get lost. Welcome to the Royal Spas on board Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub® on Queen Mary 2 – one of the largest spas at sea.
Each sensuous spa on board can lift you to another level of relaxation; a quiet retreat offering you a tempting range of indulgent treatments. Take a deep breath and feel revived by the scent of eucalyptus and the gentle sound of your bubbling hydrotherapy bath.
Between a soak in the whirlpool and a tête-à-tête with friends, you might choose to immerse yourself in a novel, or simply drift in and out of sleep on your warm tile bed. Should you wish to slow the pace even further, you can listen to piano music in our Retreat Lounge before unwinding with a full body massage by a world-class therapist.
Evenings on board offer so many pleasures: deciding where to dine, wondering whether to dance, mingle, or enjoy a show. Then, of course, there’s the fun of dressing for the occasion.
Yes, we invite guests to dress for dinner, and we think you’ll love it. Formal nights usually involve a themed Ball and account for about a third of your days on board. Many of our guests sail with Cunard precisely because they love a reason to step out in style.
For the other evenings the dress is smart yet relaxed – think jackets but no ties and cocktail dresses. If you prefer to dress more casually, you are always welcome to dine in the Lido restaurants or Kings Court and to unwind for the evening in the Carin
On each ship, the full-sized Royal Court Theatre is the setting for West End-calibre shows. Some nights feature singers or comedians, other times you might catch an abridged classical drama or a spectacular musical. On board Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria you can enjoy your own private box (the first of its kind at sea) where you can be served champagne.
If you’re feeling lucky, maybe the casino calls. Or you can kick up your own heels on the beautiful sprung dance floor in the Queens Room ballroom – where our themed Balls are held – or in one of our nightclubs.
As you explore the ship, live music is around every corner, from solo harpists, classical recitals to jazz ensembles. While the quizzes and karaoke nights in the Golden Lion pub always draw a lively, informal crowd.
